Do you like animals, nature and photography? The Royal BC Museum is inviting photographers between 8 and 17 years of age to win an exclusive and truly unique Photography Gift Pack! To enter, submit a photograph that you snapped in BC of a wild animal, plant, place, fish or insect.

One Photographer from each of the two age categories (8-11 years and 12-18 years) will be chosen as winners based on Facebook Fan voting. The winner will receive an amazing prize package and photography experience including: : ferry transportation and an overnight stay in Victoria, BC, an exclusive museum tour, an afternoon in the Royal BC Museum photo-studio, a museum membership, a chance to set up their own professional photo-shoot, a behind the scenes tour and more!

Two Worlds : Indigenous Media and Performance Festival

Two Worlds celebrates the intersection of tradition and technology in the work of BC First Nations artists.  Within the First Peoples gallery, dance, spoken word and song are merged with audio and video projection in the work of multiple  filmmakers and four performing artists: Janet Rogers, Peter Morin, Bracken Hanuse Corlett and Robyn Kruger.  In collaboration with MediaNet, a Victoria-based media arts centre, and the Royal BC Museum.

Three components of the festival- all taking place in the First Peoples gallery

  • Saturday January 26th (10am-5pm) – Film Festival/ 7 films looped throughout the day (free with admission)
  • Saturday January 26th (7pm) – Performance with Janet Rogers, Peter Morin, Bracken Hanuse Cortlett and Robyn Kruger (tickets)
  • Sunday January 27th (1pm-3pm) – Aboriginal Youth films shown as part of Wonder Sunday (free with admission)
