Step into Royal shoes on Wonder Sunday at the Royal BC Museum

Sunday, July 29,  2012
1 – 3pm

Free with admission or membership

Have you ever wondered if you could be a royal relative, or what to do if invited to party at the palace?

Families are invited to step into royal shoes next Wonder Sunday at the Royal BC Museum! At 1pm, join a piper-led parade from the front steps into the museum. Show your admission or membership to continue upstairs to the Cecil Beaton photography exhibition and Wonder Sunday activities. Create your own royal portrait or self-portrait; design a fancy hat for the occasion; make your family tree; learn tea party etiquette by role-playing; or add to a 60-year timeline of events commemorating the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

Royal BC Museum Kids’ Club members are invited on an earlier exploration of the museum precinct, a search for ‘royal’ roots, beginning at 12:15 pm.  Club members can re-enact a ribbon-cutting or cornerstone-laying ceremony and have a photo keepsake of the event. From Noon to 1:00 pm the Monarchist League of Victoria will be on the front steps of the museum with information about the royal family and a cake-cutting ceremony.
