Wonder Sunday Hallowe’en at the Royal BC Museum

Most children look forward to dressing up and trick or treating all year. But what about the Halloween traditions and beliefs that today’s trick-or-treaters have forgotten all about? Join us on October 30, 2011 from 1 pm to 3 pm in Old Town for an old fashioned Hallowe’en party with riddles, fortune telling, mask making and stories. Don’t forget to wear your costume!

Activities include:

  • Mask Making
  • Trick or Treating – go door to door in Old Town for extra mask making supplies
  • Fortune Telling – spin the wheel and find out your fortune. Then make your own individual fortune teller to take home
  • Try on a costume – if you didn’t come in a costume, come and try on a few of ours and take your picture
  • Riddles – work together to solve the riddles. When you are ready, go on a scavenger hunt to check your answers. Turn in your answer sheet for a goodie bag (Kids Club button, free youth admission pass, optional candy)

Shadow Theatre – presented by special guests Puente Theatre – 1:30, 2:00 and 2:30 pm
Puppets and shadows will tell the story of Faust – after the story play with making your own shadows

The Strange Visitor Tour – 2:45 pm
All afternoon we’ve waited and waited for our strange visitor – but he didn’t come. Let’s go and see if
we can find out what happened to him.
